Psychometric properties of the Dysexecutive Questionnaire (DEX): a study with Brazilian older adults

Abstract This study aimed to verify the psychometric properties of Dysexecutive Questionnaire (DEX) through exploratory factor analysis (EFA), evidence reliability, and convergent validity, in a sample neurologically preserved older adults. Participants were 345 adults who answered, addition DEX, sociodemographic clinical questionnaire, Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), two verbal fluency tasks. The EFA was conducted Parallel Analysis based on generation polychoric correlation matrix, as well Pearson’s between DEX scores, age, education, MMSE, According EFA, extraction factors (“Inhibition” “Social Regulation Planning”) suggested negatively associated with age MMSE. In conclusion, presented satisfactory factorial structure for adults, which can be considered reliable self-report measure complaints executive functions.
